Pululahua Natural Monument lies 25 km from Quito and contains 8,359 acres of land. There is also a good-sized crater in the Reserve to view. Many other geological areas exist in the nature reserve , There are many species of bird located in and around the nature reserve. Squirrels, wolves, armadillos, ocelots and gazelles also make their home in this park.

Because of its small size there is not much to offer in the way of flora. Some forest trees, ferns and orchids are common. There are many scenic views of the crater and you can even walk to the center of the crater. You can walk to nearby mountains to see many thermal springs and other geological items.
